Airto & Flora
A long time ago now, Birmingham had its own Ronnie Scott’s nightclub. There were some quality acts passing through, in particular Mark Murphy, Roy Ayers, Cassandra Wilson and Airto, who became somewhat of a regular. So much so, that we plucked up the courage to go back stage and have a chat and he kindly did some impromptu percussion with fork and wine bottle. The image that will stick is the one of the instruments during the interval.
