Over the past 20 years of broadcasting in various guises, we still cannot (and possibly refuse to) clearly define what our ‘sound’ is, but if you have a love of good music, from soul thru hip-hop, disco thru house with ahealthy dollop of jazz, electronic and world music, then this show could be for your ears, mind and feet.

Commentary
DJ’s are a strange breed: we get older every year, but if we are passionate about new music, we remain as young as any teenager just getting into music for the first time.
My passion for presenting & playing new music does not wane and when the world around you is losing their minds and souls, I can be thankful for this special place of solitude. I proved my commitment to my love of music by investing in an ‘expensive’ hand built turntable before Christmas, and now the passion is propelled to even loftier heights for listening to music. I recommend the experience to everyone.
The Other Side radio show still strives to play the music that you just are not hearing many other places, and we are fiercely proud of our independence. The music selected is selected without prejudice, coercion from artists or record companies and is good and interesting to listen to. We don’t play stuff which we feel is stale or pedestrian; we don’t play stuff because some ‘top’ London DJ geezer is playing the hello out of it at the moment; and we DON’T play stuff cos we wanna look cool.
It has and always will be honest alternative music. Now keep spreading the word!
I have a few mixes that are still here for you to download free. There’s some excellent music on there so dig in.
Keep checking out the shows either live or on the listen again facility (which stays up for at least 4 weeks, unlike many other listen again facilities for other radio stations lasting only 7 days). The links are on this page.

Jazz pianist Esbjörn Svensson killed in scuba accident
Obviously the main thinking behind this ‘mix’ or collection of piano-led songs was to show my respect for the Esbjorn Svensson Trio (EST), but also to highlight my love of the acoustic piano, and in most cases here, of the classic piano trio.
