Terri Shaltiel – The Funky Soultress

terri-shaltielUK-based singer-songwriter and guitarist Terri Shaltiel has diligently been honing her craft across the gruelling but obligatory festival, wine-bar and night-club circuit with her wholesome and heart-warming fusion of music dear to her heart, such as deep soul, raw funk, rare-groove, jazz, reggae and much more. Her vocals have an eclectic mix of gospel-soul and earthy/bluesy rootsy-ness, reminiscent of her many influences such as Etta James, Marva Whitney and Marlena Shaw to name but three, providing the listener with that warm, comforting feeling in the centre of their being and bringing her to the attention of Craig Charles’ BBC Radio 6 ‘Funk and Soul Show.’

Terri’s musical CV of who she’s worked with and is working with adds even more heavyweight backing to her credentials. Industry luminaries such as seasoned guitarist Jim Mullen (Bryan Auger, Terry Callier) and award-winning soulful-house singer Barbara Tucker. Most recently she has been doing session singing for renowned reggae producers Mafia and fluxy whilst recording material for her debut Soul, Funk and Blues album for which she is currently seeking urgent funding via her imaginative Kickstarter campaign. ukvibe is fully supportive of edifying accomplished, visceral and progressive UK talent, and Terri ShaItiel ‘DEFINITELY’ falls into that category. Please support her campaign to make her debut release become a reality so the masses can enjoy the Funky Soultress experience.
