You are now on the Other Side!
In our world, we welcome beings from across the cosmos ONLY on the
proviso that they enter our world with a wide, open and inquisitive mind.
Over the past 20 years of broadcasting in various guises, we still cannot
(and possibly refuse to) clearly define what our 'sound' is, but if you
have
a love of good music, from soul thru hip-hop, disco thru house
with a
healthy dollop of jazz, elctronic and world music, then this show could
be for your ears, mind and feet.
Choose to listen live on Tuesdays 2000hrs (GMT) or 'listen again'
and download at your convenience - it is entirely up to YOU
The Other Side Radio Show often takes to the road appearing at
venues across the homestead, so to be kept up to date with that,
try our dedicated myspace site: www.myspace.com/theOtherSideRadioShow
and find out where Sammy is spreading the word via the turntables.
The next important thing to now do is to click on one of the dates
listed on
the left-hand side of this page, and prepare for your journey to the Other Side...

Commentary:
Weekly is dead, long live Fortnightly!
New Style Radio is undergoing 1 or 2 changes, and all presenters were told that it may impact their shows either wholly or partly. After getting over that, I saw an opportunity to still do what I love doing on radio, (hopefully) satisfying their criteria; freeing up a little valuable personal time so that I can perhaps be creative elsewhere, and still keeping you the listener up to date with what's out there and what you can get if when you go diggin' in the vinyl emporiums of the world.
Change is good, and change is often necessary to stave off the sin of complacency, and although I'll have half the time to get my message across, the challenge will be there to tighten up on certain formats, and perhaps be 'creative' on others. The emphasis will always be on you the listener, and I can promise that there will be no loss on quality for future shows.
We will stil have guest mixes, and I will still do interviews, but more than likely, they will almost certainly be put up on this site rather than being played live on shows (there'll of course be exceptions!).
The one thing I've wanted to do more of are more mixes available for podcasting, and I really hope to be able to do that, so I'm hoping that less will actually be more!
I am very excited about the changes (and there may well be more changes on the way)
I am very proud of the shows that I have done over the last 5 or so years at NSR, and that traditional will continue and get better hopefully for another 5 years. Please stay with us and keep your mind on the Other Side...
peace and love
Sammy
